Utah Bonneville School of Sailing-Catalina Trip

Utah Bonneville School of Sailing does a fantastic job of promoting sailing in the Northern part of the State.  They put on a series of winter seminars these past few weeks and it’s been a boost to my winter sailing mood.

Now, they are planning a tip to Catalina Island aboard an elegant and spacious Lagoon 38 catamaran for a three day adventure cruise off the coast of California.  They will be leaving Long Beach, Thursday morning, May 17 and returning between 4-5 PM Saturday, May 19.   Breakfast and lunch will be provided on board, while the restaurants of Catalina and Long Beach each offer excellent dining opportunities when going ashore.

Once you arrive at Catalina, you’ll be able to explore the island, pull on a mask for some incredible snorkeling or window shop in Avalon.  This trip is also dedicated to learning more about sailing. So there will be plenty of sailing time on a Big Cat. This is a unique opportunity to learn the systems and functions of this big charter yacht.

They have room for 8 crew, and as space is limited you will need reserve your spot ASAP. At $195 per day, per person, you will not find a better adventure cruise, combined with hands on experience anywhere on the planet.  Price includes a chauffeured drive from the airport to the boat and back again, plenty of food on board, on-board sleeping accommodations, fuel, mooring fees, and big cat check ride.

Here is what my friend Jay said about last years trip: “For years I have wondered how to experience sailing on the ocean. It was great to find this adventure cruise that originated locally, was very affordable and with great friendly people. My dream was fulfilled!”
