Last Minute Gift Ideas for the Sailor on Your List

Christmas is just around the corner but no need to panic, we’ve put together all the best last minute gift ideas for the sailor on your list. It may be in the middle of winter here in the U.S., but if you know an avid sailor, they are already thinking about when they can get back out on the water next season.

1. Outdoors MASTER 20L – Floating Dry Bag

This bag is not only stylish, but it’s practical too. It holds 20 Liters of whatever you have that you want to keep dry. All you have to do is roll it up and clip together you’re all set. These are especially great for the dinghy boat sailors, but professional sailors use them too. All of this for under $20. Plus, it floats. Check it out here on AMAZON.

2. LuminAID PackLite 16 Inflatable Solar Light

Speaking of bags…this nifty little bag is solar charged, floats, is waterproof and weighs only 3 oz. How does this relate to sailing? Think about clipping this to your mast, on the deck, in the cabin, wherever you need light on the boat. Just lay it out on the deck for 7 hours of direct sunlight and you’ll have light all night. LuminAID partners with NGO’s and non-profits all around the world to give light to places and people who are in the dark. So not only are you giving a great gift to someone that you love, but you are giving back to a community in need of light all over the world. Purchase one HERE. For more info, read our previous article on LuminAID.

3. The Heartbeat Sailor T-Shirt

For the sailor at heart, or for the sailor wannabe. It doesn’t matter, we can’t help but get a kick out of this stylish shirt with a touch of salty humor. Find it on AMAZON.

4. Helly Hansen Men’s Crew Midlayer Rain and Sailing Jacket

This jacket should be at the top of any sailors wishlist. It’s waterproof, windproof and breathable on the outershell layer, while the inner layer keeps you toasty with a polartec lining. This jacket will keep you warm on those cool early spring sails, or walking downtown if you can’t wait to break it out. Check it out HERE.

5. SAIL Magazine and Small Craft Advisor

When winter keeps you inside and away from the boat, why not read about it. These two magazines are my go-to favorites and have been in my mailbox for years. When I need to experience sailing through someone else’s eyes, learn new tips or tricks, or just dream about the next boat I want, this is where I go. The sailor on your list will be thanking you for this gift all year long.

6. Fiber Fix

If you aren’t one of the 2 million views from their hilarious video about duct taping a car on YouTube, then you need go watch it. Fiver fix is stronger and more durable than duct tape. It’s more if a permanent solution rather than just a band aid. All you have to do is wrap it on whatever you need fixed, get it wet, wait 10 minutes and then it’s solid. I just got the starter kit for my birthday and I’m excited to use some on the tiller for our Holder. Find it here on Amazon.
