Island Pro Sandals One Year Later

My Island Pro Sandals One Year Later are still in the best shape they have been in and they are still my favorite sandals I wear. I go to the store, the beach, sailing, out in the yard gardening and they are my first choice when I walk out the door. Seriously though, I just wanted to do an update on my favorite shoes in the summer time and let you know that my washable suede ones do get dirty after some heavy wear in heavy terrain. After I take a little soap and water to them they are back to new and still feel like I am “walking on a cloud“. Cheesy I know, but they have been my best friends since last April. These shoes and I have made many memories together and judging from the way they are holding up now, we have many more memories to come!

Here is a short 30 second video I put together about my Island Pro’s while sailing way in Bear Lake, UT. Enjoy!

I have a pair of Island Pros too and I absolutely love them. You are right about the feeling of walking on a cloud. They are comfortable and can take a lot of wear and abuse. Thanks for the video!

What makes them so comfortable? Are they gel or do they have more of an air chamber in the soles? How well do they grip? I have always had problems with my sandals slipping on deck.

It’s not gel that they use, but these sandals are comfy. My sandals have a rubber sole, a foam cushion and a suede leather upper that cushion the foot. Check out their website for more details on exactly what’s it’s made out of. One reason we like these sandals for sailing is because the rubber grip on the bottom is really grippy so you don’t have to worry about slipping on the deck. That used to be a big problem for me too. ~Megan
